A few months ago, I thought that I would like to have the same or similar set up for art in our basement. When we redid the basement we didn't use any drywall because of potential moisture problems. I used basement paint that repels moisture on the concrete wall and then painted a faux finish using a textured paint. I don't want to create holes in the cement so I plan to purchase a heavier duty curtain rod, and hang thick ribbons or decorative chain from the curtain rode.
